Rays Corner is for anyone of us across our City who are in need of support – for themselves or for others. This corner is a place where anyone can visit and find information about accessing support and local services.

Wellbeing Plus is a monthly wellbeing newsletter, to help you look after yourself, and those around you.

About Ray’s Corner

Following Ray’s tragic suicide in 2020 his family donated in his
memory to Washington Mind, to support us in making a difference. Ray’s Corner is part of this legacy. Ray was 55 years of age, working hard and with loving family members and friends around him and yet he didn’t feel able to ask for the help he needed. The stigma that is still associated with mental health stopped him from reaching out.

We have hope that in memory of Ray we can change this.

Rays Corner is for anyone of us across our City who are in need of support – for themselves or for others. This corner is a place where anyone can visit and find information about accessing support and local services. Whether people feel they are ready to access services yet, or are just looking for self-help tips, this safe space will be available for all in our communities.

Speaking to families & friends who have lost loved ones the message is clear… ‘If suicide ever crosses your mind, just know I would rather listen to your story than attend your funeral.’

There are 2 size options for Ray’s Corner, you can see a better idea of the sizing difference below.

Ray’s Corner across the community

Talking is vital, it can make a difference and we want everyone to know that support is available, and they are not alone. We hope that by having Ray’s corner available in workplaces and community settings across our local area, people will be able to find the right support.

With two different sized corners available for your building, counter top and table top, we have something suitable for everyone to start sharing mental health and wellbeing information. Once your corner is in place, the support you receive from Washington Mind doesn’t end there, you will be signed up to our regular Wellbeing Plus newsletter to keep you up to date with mental health and wellbeing information and campaigns which you can share organisation/company-wide.

You will also be able to keep in contact with us about the stock of resources in your corner and when you start to run low, we can provide you with additional information to ensure your Ray’s Corner provides continued support.

Thank you to everyone who has signed up to Ray’s Corner so far.
