Can anyone access your services?

Anyone living in the city of Sunderland aged 11 or over can access Washington Mind services.

Are your services confidential?

Yes, although there are times when we may need to share information, if we have concerns about what you have told us.
We would only break confidentiality if: You give permission to share information or if there is a risk to your safety or the safety of others.

If you need any clarification on this please ask a member of staff.

I want to speak to someone now about my mental health – can I just call you?

The Washington Mind team are always happy to help if you have any queries about your mental health or someone you know.  You may find it useful to go to www.wellbeinginfo.org and visit the mental health pages or www.mind.org.uk These websites are full of useful information.

Do you offer counselling in the evenings or at weekends?

We currently offer counselling on Tuesday evenings and are hoping that this will be extended to one more evening shortly. We do not offer weekend appointments.

If I wished to complain about your services what would I do?

Washington Mind aims to provide high quality services and training. Your feedback is extremely important in helping us achieve this goal. Is there a charge for your services?

All of our therapeutic services are free of charge eg. counselling, although any donations are gratefully received to aid the continuation of our services.

I have asked for support in the past but did not respond when you called me and sent me a letter. Can I still get help from Washington Mind?

Yes! You may not have been ready to access support at that time. We understand that this is the case for some people and we will be more that happy for you to access our services in the future.

Is Washington Mind part of other local Mind organisations in the area?

No, although we sometimes work in partnership with other local Mind organisations, we are a separate, independent charity. We apply for our own funding and work in different ways.

Is there parking available at the Washington Mind building?

Yes, we are lucky to have a large car park at The Life House , which is FREE of charge. On busy days, nearby on street parking is available.
